MDM Lead Developer

We are are looking for an MDM Lead Developer to lead the customer data development related to Pohjola Insurance's system architecture renewal. Join our team in Helsinki!

A few words about the job

 

Pohjola Insurance is rapidly renewing its system architecture, and a crucial part of this renewal is our customer and party data. This renewal will begin next year with the partial modernization of our current customer data through interfaces built in the public cloud and integrating the current system into an event-driven integration architecture. Additionally, there are plans to build a new customer data platform in the coming years.


To lead this development work, we are now looking for a Lead Developer. Initially, you will work alongside another developer to support the Customer Management Team. Our goal is to grow the renewal team in line with our customer data renewal, including developers, testers, and solution developers.


The international Customer Management Team consists of 14 members, including internal experts from OP and consultants. The home base for team members in Finland is in Vallila, Helsinki, where the team meets once a week.


In the Customer Management Team, you will embark on a cloud journey, where parts of our current mainframe system will be migrated to our new Azure cloud platform. This work involves building the foundation of environments and architecture, and you will immediately start implementing the first use cases on the new platform. Additionally, you will get to design the target architecture and implementation of our future customer data platform.
 

What we expect from you?

 

We are looking for a seasoned MDM developer who is willing to share their expertise and help others to succeed. We expect you to have experience in large-scale solutions  and working with multiple teams. We expect you to take ownership of the solutions that are being developed and be a a technical leader, implementing our target architecture with your example. We value experience in the following areas:


•    Development of MDM solutions
•    Java backend development and Spring Boot framework
•    Azure development and Kubernetes container orchestration
•    DB planning and implementation (eg. PostgreSQL)
•    Modern integration technologies (eg. Kafka and REST APIs, extra points from GraphQL)
•    Familiarity with front end technologies and languages (Javascript, Typescript)
