Senior Developer, Life Tech (with strong AWS experience)

At OP Insurance domain we are starting something big: a large platform transformation program that will support our business in the future. This has an effect on our OP Life Tech team, as we will move to a new technology platform and make significant customer experience and process efficiency changes to our services. For this reason, we are now looking for a Senior Developer with strong experience from AWS to join our team! This position is permanent and located in Helsinki. Like the rest of OP, we work flexibly, combining both office days and remote work. 

 

What is the team and the role like?


Our OP Life Tech team is developing OP Life Assurance’s digital services, especially focusing on customer’s (both corporate and private customers) self-service channels. In practice we are building a new digital sales engine for life insurance business within op.fi portals. This development work will strengthen the customer experience when customer’s specific needs are taken more into account.


As a Senior Developer, you will participate strongly to the software development work our team is doing. You get to build new software, in a skilled team with rather modern technologies. Your work is important to build frictionless customer experiences for the largest financial organization in Finland. 

 

Besides hands on software development, you also get to participate in technology and architectural discussions and design? with our IT architects and Tech Leads. As you will work in a Senior role, we expect you are willing to share your expertise and knowledge also to the other members of the team.

 

What are we looking for? 


We are listing below core elements and skills we believe will be needed for you in this role: 
•    strong experience from public cloud infrastructure (AWS).
•    ability to participate in technology and architectural discussions with IT architects and tech leads
•    comprehensive understanding of Java and Java based web development frameworks such as Spring Boot.
•    experience with frontend technologies such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript and preferably ReactJS framework.
•    Rest APIs.
•    setting up and modifying software automation and CI/CD pipelines 
•    communication skills in English are a must, fluency in Finnish is seen as an advantage.
