Lead Developer, Credit Risk Management Development

What is this role about:


Our Credit Risk Management development -team, as a part of a larger architectural transformation, is acting as a spearhead in utilizing modern data and technology capabilities to develop the new Credit Risk engine which is used for internal credit risk measurement, calculation, reporting and control in OP Financial Group. The existing, complex business environment and the development of data architecture pose significant requirements on understanding the holistic data landscape as well as designing and implementing future proof, scalable data processes for the Credit Risk engine.

As a Lead Developer you would be contributing to the development team with your expertise & understanding of python programming. You’ll lead the development team and make sure that coding and common requirements are followed as per OP guidelines. You’ll participate in code reviews and approval -position. Your responsibilities are:

 

  • Understanding business requirements and modelling specifications and translating them to code.

  • Developing, implementing, and supporting data sourcing processes (includes participating in data use case / data protection assessments).

  • Planning the Credit risk engine data architecture transition towards target state architecture, initially to cloud and ultimately to Azure cloud environment in cooperation with relevant parallel projects.

  • Follow OP’s coding best practices and principles. 

  • Reusability of code.

  • Build test automation and test-driven mind set. 

  • Code review and approval. 

  • Development team lead & guidance.

  • Understanding of onprem vs. cloud solutions.

 

The team:


You will be joining a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals from varying backgrounds and expertise. As a spearhead, the team can create significant input to the development and implementation of the solution itself. The team works within the Agile framework and is operating autonomously within the thresholds of the business objectives and timelines. The team is also continuously developing their ways of working and related practicalities to ensure effective teamwork as well as everyone’s wellbeing and psychological safety. Work is done in a hybrid setup, enabling flexibility, but to ensure benefits from face-to-face teamwork, the team has a team space reserved for one day each week and a monthly team day. The team will be multicultural, so English is a must.


What we hope from you:

 

Mandatory knowledge & experience:

 

  • English language

  • Data management, Data bases / warehouses

  • Advanced skills in SQL and experience in creating and managing ETL pipelines.

  • Experience in cloud-based data processing solutions (e.g. (AWS/Azure, Databricks + Glue, Delta Lake/tables, Spark)

  • Python language

  • Strong problem-solving skills, team player mentality, and good communication skills.

  • Team lead experience

 

Beneficial knowledge & experience:

 

  • Knowledge of credit risk / banking

  • Design, develop and manage data processing pipelines.

  • Data analysis experience

  • API knowledge
