Lead Developer, Core Banking / Monetary Transaction

We are looking for a Lead Developer to join our Integration team in the Core Banking System tribe. The position is based in Helsinki but our remote work practices in Finland area are flexible. In our team this means approximately 1 office day per week.

What is the role and team like?

We are currently enabling a gradual transformation of Retail and Corporate Banking segments in OP Financial Group. Transformation is enabled by shared core banking system and other system upgrades. As the name suggest, Core Banking System tribe is responsible of OP's new core banking system and successful transformation, also known as Valas, as a whole.  

We´re now fitting this new system into OP's technology environment. For this reason, we are now seeking a Senior Developer to manage development monetary transactions on Core Banking System area. 

As a Lead Developer you are responsible for your team’s solution architecture and for leading the software development work. You will also participate to the hands-on software development work with the rest of your team. You’ll also get to mentor your team members and collaborate with external stakeholders, both onsite and offshore and work in close co-operation with the

Product Owners and architects.

What are we looking for?

We hope to find a person with experience in large scale application architecture, developing modern microservices and working with distributed and offshore teams. We hope you are into functional programming, write clean code and can test your own code. We believe having a broad understanding of software production processes and agile methodologies will help you to succeed. 
We work with the following technologies and hope you are familiar with most of them:
•    Frontend development: React, Microfrontends
•    Event-driven-architecture and related technologies (eg. Kafka)
•    API and service development
•    API management and configuration
•    Containers (eg. Kubernetes)
•    Public Cloud environments
Since you will co-operate with many different stakeholders, you should have good communication skills (English should be full working proficient, Finnish skills are considered as a plus).
