I started my first working day within the Kiitorata programme pretty much without prejudices or any special expectations, but afterwards it is easy to state that the entire six-month traineeship period has only been full of positive surprises. A lot of shared activities have been arranged within the trainee programme. We have been able to network and learn about various businesses. On the other hand, the duties, too, have been meaningful right from the start, and they have involved a lot of responsibility. The amount of responsibility I have had in derivatives and currency sales has exceeded my expectations. I have truly also been an important part of the team.

My most memorable moments have to do with the encouraging, easy-going atmosphere in the midst of hectic situations. In addition, successes with closing large deals have been encouraging experiences.

I would recommend the job of a dealer trainee to all those who are interested in working in the financial market and are not afraid of hectic situations. The job requires a good ability to work under pressure, a head for numbers and an understanding of the basic principles of financial markets. In addition, good ICT skills are essential in any job nowadays, so it is definitely useful to know the basics of coding and mathematical simulations. A trainee should not yet worry about not knowing the specifics of derivatives. In this job, you will gain an understanding of their function in a whole different way compared to studying textbooks.
