Kiitorata has been a great chance for me to get acquainted with a whole new operating region. I had previously worked at OP’s Non-life Insurance Legal Services, so I was familiar with the workplace, but thanks to the trainee programme I could familiarise myself with and work in a new position at Banking Legal Services. During my traineeship period I could expand my legal competence related to the financial industry.

I embarked on my traineeship period with an open mind, wanting to find out how it is to work in banking, and to think of my lines in terms of my future. Right from the start, my duties have been interesting and challenging. Towards the end, I have conducted even some more challenging duties independently.

In addition to my supervisor, five other lawyers work in my team. The team has been encouraging and they received me really well starting from day one. I have always been helped with my duties whenever I have needed help. In addition, we have had a good team spirit and a spirit of getting things done, resulting in a good environment for working and learning.

The trainee programme has given me confidence in my competence. Completing new and even challenging tasks has given me confidence in my ability to overcome tasks when I dare to take action and ask for advice when I need it. If you want to do well in the trainee programme, I believe that the most essential thing is wanting to learn new things. I think the trainee programme is a good chance to try out something you do not have previous experience of.

I started as a trainee when I was nearing the end of my studies, and I graduated at the beginning of the traineeship period. I recommend Kiitorata to students on the brink of graduation: The programme provides an excellent opportunity for you to perform interesting duties while finishing your studies, and it is a natural path from studies into employment.
