Lead Developer, OP Lab (Oulu/Helsinki)

OP Lab is OP Financial Group's internal innovation unit. We identify and analyze future phenomena, bring them into business context, and test the feasibility and attractiveness of business opportunities. We innovate and execute special projects where we enhance and accelerate business using different technologies or ways of doing things. We have a team of slightly over 30 people working in OP Lab.

We are currently looking for a Lead Developer to oversee the development of our special projects in collaboration with OP business units.

What is the role like? 

As a Lead Developer, you play a key role in implementing creative projects that build future capabilities at OP Lab and open new paths. You will engage in software development yourself and guide and mentor other experts.

As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, making technology choices, developing software and guiding the development team to achieve high-quality results. 

What kind of expertise we are looking for?

You are a versatile development professional with previous experience in similar roles. You can guide product and service development, take responsibility for diverse delivery entities, and collaborate across organizational borders. You encourage entrepreneurial thinking by promoting experimentation and exploration of new ideas and technologies. You have a passionate interest in innovations and staying updated with the latest technology trends.

Your experience in a nutshell:
-    Several years of software development experience
-    Proficiency in multiple programming languages, e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, Go, etc.
-    Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based applications
-    Understanding of service architectures and interfaces
-    Experience in software project requirements definition and technology choices
-    Proficiency in best practices of software development, especially agile methods
-    Strong interpersonal skills and networking ability
-    Fluent proficiency in English
