As a player in the financial industry, we at OP Pohjola have high quality standards for the services we offer and their reliability. The reliability of our systems is extremely important to us and is one of our critical competencies. We require reliability, appropriateness, and accessibility from our systems and services. We need your help to achieve this.
Our mission in Technology is to provide secure, reliable, and highly automated cloud platform services that enable OP Pohjola’s business areas to build and scale their services with confidence.
What is this about?
We are now looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Azure Platform Operations team, Cloud Platform tribe. In this role, you will work at the core of OP Pohjola’s cloud platform, ensuring that our Azure environment operates reliably, securely, and at scale. You will act as a hands-on technical expert responsible for driving reliability, automation, and operational excellence across the platform.
In your role, as a Senior Reliability Engineer, you are not only maintaining the platform, you are actively improving it.
You will:
- Own and develop the reliability of the Azure Platform from an operational perspective
- Drive automation across operations, incident management, and recovery processes
- Continuously improve observability, monitoring, and alerting capabilities
- Actively identify risks and technical gaps, and take ownership to resolve them
- Work hands-on with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform services
- Collaborate closely with application teams to improve workload reliability and platform adoption
- Ensure the platform meets high standards for availability, resilience, and business continuity
You are expected to take initiative, challenge the status quo, and proactively push improvements forward, not wait for them to be assigned.
The position is based in Helsinki or Oulu, according to your preference. We combine onsite and remote work flexibly in our daily routines.
What are we looking for?
This role is especially suited for someone with a strong technical background and a proactive mindset.
We are looking for:
- Solid hands-on experience in Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure
- Strong skills in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Bicep, Terraform)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Understanding of observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering principles
- Experience working in production environments with incident and problem management
- Ability to identify dependencies, risks, and improvement areas independently
In addition, we expect you to:
- Be highly self-driven and proactive — you take ownership and move things forward
- Have the ability to translate problems into concrete technical actions
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work effectively in a DevOps-driven, cross-functional team
Experience with hybrid environments, high-availability architectures, or business continuity practices is considered an advantage.
