Our Design System team at OP is currently searching for a lead web frontend developer to join us in Oulu. Like the rest of OP, we work flexibly, combining both office days and remote work. In our team this means typically at least couple of office days per week.
What is the role like?
In this role you will work in a design system team leading the technical development of OP Design System that serves dozens of product teams. OP Design System enjoys wide adoption, but responding to future needs and growing the design system further for even bigger impact requires technical architecting and building the community around it. Working with UI/UX Designers, Developers and Product Owners you translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions, and foster collaboration around design system at OP.
One of your main responsibilities is to lead the team by introducing, designing and implementing technical solutions and practices in collaboration with Frontend Architecture team, and set an example by showing how things should be done driving change where needed. You will also contribute actively into building and documenting components and other common UI solutions.
What we expect from you?
We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer with hands-on software development skills and flexible mindset who has seen large-scale operations and is willing to guide a development team and advocate for companywide best practices around design system in collaboration with a product owner, agile master and the rest of the team.
• Strong experience from frontend development and technologies (HTML, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript) and modern frontend libraries and frameworks, such as React
• Experience in leading established design systems and large developer communities
• Experience from leading software teams
• Experience from accessibility and quality assurance
• Experience on UI/UX design principles and tools and cloud platforms is seen as a plus
• Communication skills in English are required, fluency in Finnish is a huge plus!
