Tech Lead, Power Platform
We are now looking for a Tech Lead to join our Development and Technologies organization to drive the growth of the Power Platform as a central development platform in OP Financial Group's cloud transition. Are you seeking new challenges in cloud architecture? If you answered yes, keep on reading!
Within OP Financial Group’s architecture leadership model, the Tech Lead is regarded as equivalent to a senior technical and technology architect role. This position is located in Helsinki, but like the rest of OP, we work flexibly, combining both office days and remote work.
What is this role about?
As mentioned, in your role, you will be a key part of our ongoing cloud transition journey. You can read more about it here: https://op-careers.fi/content/Pilvi/?locale=fi_FI. You will join our Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE), which supports the cloud transition by creating a secure, scalable development and automation platform for OP Financial Group’s business units and other development organizations. Automation, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) as we know it within this context at OP, is a business-critical and widely used service that drives efficiency in our business processes. In addition to general Power Platform development and maintenance, the CoE is responsible for maintaining the current RPA platform and efficiently transitioning it to a future Microsoft cloud platform. Your goal will be to ensure a functional and business-compliant low code architecture, implement the long-term roadmap, and support OP Financial Group’s business units in leveraging the Power Platform, for example, through solution architecture guidance.
In addition to possessing deep expertise in the data domain and insurance business, your responsibility is to ensure that the Power Platform CoE adheres to the group's enterprise architecture principles across various IT domains, such as cloud, data, integration, and security. This role requires extensive collaboration with tech leads and enterprise architects in other business domains within your line organization, Development and Technologies, beyond your operative home organization. You belong to the CoE leadership team but also collaborate frequently with all the tribe’s teams.
Your key areas of responsibility:
• Accountable for ensuring each system within the CoE has technical documentation that meets regulatory requirements and supports system operability.
• Accountable for ensuring each legacy system within the tribe has a technical roadmap, including the appropriate cloud migration strategy (7R's) for public cloud adoption.
• Accountable for managing and reducing technical debt and technology debt within the CoE.
• Responsible for maintaining a holistic view of the CoE's IT systems' target state architecture, including a thorough understanding of the current architecture, and managing and steering the target state architecture to ensure alignment with the OP Financial Group’s enterprise architecture principles and guidelines.
• Responsible for providing clear guidance to each team on how to approach practical technical challenges, including, to a reasonable extent and within the scope of the CoE's responsibility, even outside your home organization.
• Responsible for fostering and actively coordinating collaboration among technical personnel (developers, data engineers, data scientists, etc.) across the CoE.
• Responsible for advising other CoE leadership roles on all technology-related matters.
• Responsible for creating higher-level Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) for the CoE.
Note that being accountable does not mean you must execute those tasks yourself; your role is to lead the teams within your tribe to accomplish these larger objectives.
What do we expect from you?
We are looking for an experienced expert for a responsible role, which means we have certain expectations regarding your skills. We expect you to have previous experience in Power Platform solution architecture as well as a broader understanding of technical architecture. Knowledge of Azure is also an advantage for this role. You should be eager to contribute to the significant technological and architectural advancements across OP Financial Group. The ability to work independently and take initiative is crucial for thriving in this role.
You possess strong communication skills (written and oral) and can effectively engage with both developers and business leaders, speaking their respective languages and at their respective levels. Familiarity with the banking and insurance sectors is a plus when interacting with business representatives.
Below is a summary of the skills we are looking for:
- You have expertise and previous experience in leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform and an understanding of the governance model requirements associated with the platform.
- You have experience with best practices and design patterns for low code solution architecture.
- You have knowledge of cloud security solutions, risk management, and compliance (particularly advantageous is familiarity with financial industry regulatory requirements).
- You have experience in Robotic Process Automation technologies and process automation solutions (preferably Power Automate and Blue Prism)
- Power Platform is part of a broader cloud transition, so knowledge of Azure cloud services is beneficial for this role.
- Experience (5+ years) in a relevant IT architecture role.
- Mastering Finnish is an advantage, but not mandatory for this role.
