We are looking for a GitHub Specialist who is passionate about improving the developer experience and advancing modern platform services. In this role, you will work with DevOps, automation, security, and platform engineering while helping shape how software development is carried out at OP Pohjola today and in the future. The position combines hands-on technical work, continuous improvement, and close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders. 

 

The position available either in Helsinki or Oulu. Like the rest of OP Pohjola, we work flexibly, combining both office days and remote work in Finland.

 

About the Role

 

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for managing shared configurations for our GitHub Enterprise and Artifactory platforms, ensuring compliance, and developing self-service solutions. Your goal is to provide developers with a secure, scalable, and user-friendly development environment that meets the regulatory requirements of the financial industry. To succeed in this role, you have a background in software development or DevOps and enjoy working closely with others while sharing your expertise and supporting their success.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Platform Configuration and Management 

 

  • Maintain and develop shared configurations for GitHub Enterprise and Artifactory platforms 
  • Define organization-wide policies (e.g., repository policies, branch protection rules, artifact governance) 
  • Manage integrations such as Entra ID, CI/CD pipelines, and security tooling 

 

Compliance and Governance 

 

  • Ensure that platform services meet financial industry requirements, including auditing, access management, and traceability 
  • Participate in risk management activities, such as supply chain risk mitigation and pipeline security 
  • Document and audit processes, including access reviews and exception-handling procedures 

 

Self-Service Solutions 

 

  • Build self-service capabilities for developers (e.g., repository provisioning and pipeline template solutions) 
  • Automate recurring tasks using Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code principles 
  • Continuously improving the Developer Experience (DevEx) 

 

Collaboration 

 

  • Support development teams in platform adoption and best practices 
  • Participate in proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives and evaluation of new capabilities 

 

What We Are Looking For

 

Below are the key skills and experience we hope to find in our next colleague: 

 

  • Strong experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD, artifact management) 
  • Understanding of identity and access management (SSO, SCIM, IAM, Entra ID) 
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Terraform and GitHub Actions 
  • Programming experience in languages such as Java, Python, or Bash 
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure 
  • Experience leveraging AI in software development and automation 
  • Experience developing AI agents or other intelligent automation solutions is considered an advantage 

 

Security & Compliance 

 

  • Understanding of secure SDLC practices (SAST, DAST, SCA, supply chain security) 
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, audit-driven environments) 
  • Ability to balance security requirements with a positive developer experience 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders 
  • Professional working proficiency in English. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
