We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help ensure that the systems, environments and technical foundations supporting OP Pohjola's core banking services remain reliable, scalable and ready for future needs. Working in a complex enterprise environment, you will collaborate with development, architecture, infrastructure and partner teams while contributing to the bank's ongoing cloud transformation.
The position is based in Helsinki or Oulu. At OP Pohjola, we work in a hybrid model that combines office and remote work within Finland.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to take responsibility for critical core banking test environments, their availability and continuous improvement. The role involves coordinating technical dependencies related to environments, infrastructure, deployments and testing, while working closely with development, architecture, QA and partner teams.
Strong Azure expertise is essential, including the ability to design how test environments are built, integrated and operated in Azure. You will play a key role in supporting the ongoing cloud transformation and ensuring that environments are scalable, reliable and aligned with architectural principles.
Key responsibilities
- Own the availability, maintenance and development of core banking test environments
- Coordinate environment setup, configuration, deployments and upgrades
- Manage technical dependencies, incidents and environment-related risks
- Support development, QA and end-to-end testing teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Coordinate closely with architecture, infrastructure, operations and external partners
- Improve environment processes, monitoring, documentation and ways of working
- Ensure environments are fit for purpose and ready for planned testing and releases
- Coordinate and prioritize the work of the environments team, ensuring alignment with delivery and testing needs
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong software engineering background and proven experience in complex enterprise environments. You have worked in technical leadership roles close to software development and architecture, and understand how cloud platforms, integrations and large-scale system landscapes come together to support business-critical services and deliveries.
To succeed in this role, you bring experience in:
- Working as a Lead Developer, Software Architect, or in a similar technical leadership role
- Designing and operating large, highly integrated system landscapes
- Azure cloud platforms and related services
- Hybrid cloud environments and cloud transformation initiatives
- Java-based software development
- API architecture, integration patterns, and service design
In this role, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders. Therefore, we value strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate discussions and drive progress across teams. Full working proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in Finnish is considered an advantage.
